Our Story
CIERGA started from a personal frustration.
For years, I struggled with stubborn waxy buildup on my own brushes and combs and found that most DIY cleaning methods online either required prolonged soaking or simply weren’t effective enough at cleaning the narrow crevices of fine-toothed combs.
I also noticed that repeated soap and vinegar cleaning seemed to dry out my boar bristle brushes over time.
When creating CIERGA, my first priority was making sure it was safe for natural materials like wood and boar bristles. My second priority was that it had to be quick and effective enough that brush cleaning wouldn’t feel like another annoying chore.
(We already have enough of those as adults!)
Thoughtful by Design
Our approach is rooted in simplicity, function, and restraint.
We design products for specific needs, rather than adapting generic solutions or relying on harsh, all-purpose formulas. Each product is developed with intention — to support regular care without unnecessary stripping, heavy fragrance, or aggressive chemistry.
The Hairbrush Cleanser was our starting point — created specifically for brush and comb care, and guided by principles that continue to shape everything we make.
We believe care should feel calm, considered, and effective — not forceful.
Mindful Materials
Every product has an impact — from sourcing and manufacturing to shipping and daily use. Rather than chasing labels or making sweeping promises, we focus on thoughtful, practical choices at every step.
Our approach is simple:
- we choose materials and ingredients with care
- minimize excess where it makes sense
- consider environmental impact without compromising how a product is meant to perform
Our packaging is selected deliberately, with attention to durability and recyclability where feasible — and with the understanding that no option is impact-free.
When trade-offs arise, we make them consciously and transparently. Because care only makes sense if it actually does what it’s meant to do.
